The new concepts introduced by HRS Spiratube in the food processing industry (catering) are due to the combination of 3 elements:
Key factors:
- Hands have been replaced by a pump.
- Vessels or reactors have been replaced by a heat exchanger, Unicus®.
This means that discontinuous processes have been substituted by continuous ones.
- The ratio volume/area is huge in a reactor compared to Unicus®.
- Due to the above the time needed for the thermal treatment in a tank or reactor is also huge, damaging product natural properties.
- Vapours and aromas from the product are lost due to evaporation if the vessel is not closed with a cover.
- Cleaning can't be done automatically in a reactor.
- Handling of discontinuous processes are not so easy as continuous.
- Traditional packages (cans or jars) have been replaced by a aseptic bag made in plastic. Aseptic filling eliminates costs of storing and handling empty cans.

It is easy to manipulate and is particularly suited to use in collective kitchens and restaurants, being the ideal ingredient for precooked meals, soups, salads,
pizzas, etc. Peeling, chopping and residue removal are eliminated, and also odour and tears. Refrigeration or cold room storage is not required. But this does not
imply higher cost of pre-cooked meal.
